Petunia’s Pies & Pastries® is a flourishing gluten free & vegan baking business that was started from theground up by its current owner, Lisa Clark. Her creative vision and plans began years ago as a child, as she learned to bake with her mother. It quickly became clear that sweet treats, creative expression, nurturing others and acts of service to bring joy to humanity needed to be a part of her life forever. In 2010, after discovering her own many food intolerances, she got an idea to start the niche business out of her tiny home kitchen in Portland, Oregon. She has since made a name for the business in local farmers markets, successful wholesale relationships and direct to customer sales. She gained a large and loyal customer base by creating positive working relationships, and established the company name in Portland and amongst the food community. She has provided wonderful opportunities for employees and has rapidly grown Petunia’s Pies & Pastries® at each stage of business. Demand has grown for our quality niche product, and the attitude and experience that Petunia’s Pies & Pastries® serves up with each pastry.
We handcraft our scrumptious sweets locally in small batches in downtown Portland. We use only top quality, all natural, fresh, local and seasonal ingredients. Only the best for us. We believe everything you eat should make you feel great. You should feel great eating dessert too! Our yummy treats are not only the best in town but good for you too! We hand make our own special gluten free flour blend using great high protein, high fiber heart healthy nutritious flours. We use all natural cane sugar, and some alternative sweeteners such as agave syrup, brown rice syrup, coconut sugar & date sugar. We use healthy fats and fat replacements like coconut oil, non-gmo canola oil, locally made raw nut butters, coconut milk, applesauce, bananas, zucchini and pumpkin.
Our products are created with great intent, passion and attention to detail. Each item has somewhat of a personality, and a purpose to fulfill each customer’s need depending on what the occasion calls for. Our items are flavorful with a balance of textures and a balance of sweet and salty. They are fun, playful, creative and unique. Our treats are seasonally developed and ever rotating, although we maintain our signature items year round. They are inspired by our customers needs and desires: simple, flavorful, comforting, familiar, down right delicious desserts that are guaranteed to please any tummy. Whether that tummy is gluten free, vegan, or not!
